League members submit 340,000 Public Comments to defend our National Monuments

As I visited state parks and national monuments this summer, I never stopped to consider that I could be one of the last people to see these natural wonders.

But then the Trump Administration announced a plan to strip the critical protections from National Monuments across the country!

This is unacceptable.

Together with the League of Conservation Voters we rallied over the past 60 days, and have made a staggering 2.7 million public comments opposing these cuts – more than 340,000 from League members! This was just the first step in a fight against special interests who want to exploit our public lands for mining and drilling.

Here in California, we’ve fought hard to ensure the Carrizo Plains, San Gabriel Mountains, and Giant Sequoia National Monuments would never have to face another threat from oil, mining, and logging interests. But now these parks are on the Trump Administration’s chopping block.

But people like you are proving there’s still hope. Trump has an enormous obstacle standing in the way of his goal: dedicated supporters like you and me who are willing to fight tooth and nail to protect our public lands!

This is a fight we absolutely can and must win, but we can only do so with your help:
